Biography

After taking a philosophy degree in London and devoting too much time to student journalism (mainly for the freebies) Colin joined the BBC. Around this time he was writing some mercifully unperformed plays at the Royal Court Theatre and some occasionally published magazine articles. Sensing that commercial television might offer greater career opportunities (oh alright then, more money) Colin moved to Scottish Television, and from there on to the Granada Media Group. He worked in a variety of roles and rose without trace to become Director of Technology at Granada. After that he decided to jump to the other side of the digital divide and worked for a charity based in Lambeth, south London. Moving back to East Anglia and finding that the ancestral lands had been sold, Colin looked for more local employment and discovered an intellectual property software company based in Los Angeles, Sophoi Inc. He set up a UK subsidiary in London (Sophoi Ltd) and became Director of Professional Services. Eventually, with the aid of an atlas, he worked out that Norwich would be an easier commute from his current home and arrived at EC1.
